Styling changes for 2021 include a bolder front and redesigned center stack with a big new touchscreen. The plus-size Nissan Armada SUV heeds the call of buyers looking for lots of room for passengers and cargo in an upscale cabin, with enough extra power to still haul a trailer after filling the cabin to capacity. Armada is revamped for 2021 with significant exterior styling changes, a number of interior updates, a new Midnight Edition blacked-out appearance package, a horsepower boost and additional standard safety features. It’s the first vehicle to wear Nissan’s new logo. The Armada’s grille, hood, front fenders, front bumper and headlights are all new, giving the SUV a more squared and sculpted look. A new rear bumper, LED taillights and combination lights complete the transformation.
Inside, the center stack has been redesigned with a new standard 12.3-inch touchscreen as its focal point. Wi-Fi and wireless Apple CarPlay are new standard features, and wireless smartphone charging is available. A new 7-inch driver-assist color display in the gauge cluster has higher resolution for better visibility. Included for the first time on Armada within the NissanConnect Services Convenience plan is Nissan Concierge, providing 24-hour access to a live assistant at the push of a button. Every new Armada comes with a burly V8 engine making 400 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque, an increase of 10 horsepower and 19 pound-feet over the previous model. A smooth, quick seven-speed automatic transmission is standard across the board. When properly equipped, the Armada is good for towing up to 8,500 pounds, for both rear-wheel and four-wheel drive versions. Fuel economy ratings are a wince-worthy 14 mpg city, 19 mpg highway and 16 mpg combined for 2WD, and 13/18/15 mpg for 4WD. Newly standard active safety features for all models include adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear automatic braking and lane-keeping assist. The 2021 Armada comes in S, SV, SL, and Platinum trim levels, with standard 4×2 or optional 4×4 configuration for each one. Pricing for the S model starts at $50,395 including a $1,495 destination charge.
I drove the Armada Platinum 4WD model, $69,795. In the Armada hierarchy it adds front seat ventilation, power folding third-row seats, 22-inch wheels, a rear seat entertainment system, leather-wrapped steering wheel and quilted leather upholstery to the impressively equipped base S model and the handful of niceties added to the in-between trims. The new infotainment system is a true improvement, a real keeper. Its 12.3-inch touchscreen is fantastic. Manual dials are provided for volume and tuning control, along with push buttons and another dial on the center console for other functions. Operation is intuitive. The 13-speaker Bose premium audio system, standard on the Platinum trim, is glorious. My tester had the optional ($650) second-row captain’s chairs arrangement, reducing seating capacity to seven rather than the standard eight, but greatly increasing the Armada interior’s appeal. The two seats are luxurious, separated by a big handsome and useful console, and legroom is grand. The seats fold flat and go back up easily. They also flip up entirely to simplify access to the third row, which is little-kids-only territory. Armada is aptly named. It is massive and industrial-strength, with not a dainty thing to be found on it. For all that, the ride is gentle and peaceful. From the driver’s perspective, there’s no mistaking Armada for something less huge. It goes through curves leisurely and feels buoyant on the freeway.

All-new 2022 Nissan Pathfinder
- Room for up to eight passengers, a first on Pathfinder
- Room for up to three car seats in the 2nd row, and two in the 3rd – a first on Pathfinder
- Available captain’s chairs, a first on Pathfinder – with a no-tools-needed removable console, allowing items up to 7 inches wide to pass between the seats
- Easier entry/exit to and from the 3rd row with Nissan’s EZ FLEX® one-touch seating, which now pitches the seat forward to provide a wide opening from driver or passenger side – even with a car seat attached
- Two additional inches of front seat legroom – now best-in-class 44.3 inches
- Nearly five additional inches of 3rd row hip room – now 46.7 inches
- A new, easy-to-clean luggage box with a self-supporting hinge lid that offers 54.1 liters of storage space – up from 33.3 liters on the previous model
- With 3rd row seats upright, the 4-foot wide cargo area easily fits four golf bags, a 120-quart cooler, or six TSA-sized carry-on suitcases
- With 2nd- and 3rd-row seats folded, the 4-foot wide cargo area allows users to slide in 4-foot wide sheets of plywood or like-sized items
The 2022 Pathfinder handles small items well, too. Thanks to a small, ergonomic electric shifter, the center console now offers two storage areas – a traditional console and the new “bridge” pass-through area below it, which adds 13.4 liters of storage. The open pass-through area can conveniently accommodate items like a purse, a toolbox or a full-size tablet, while the traditional console area features space for smaller items. All told, the console area now offers 19.5 liters of storage – nearly three times as much as the previous model.
A new storage shelf sits above the glove compartment, perfect for phones, sunglasses, or like-sized items, and the glovebox features a strap to securely store the owner’s manual while offering additional storage space. Pathfinder also now features 16 beverage holders. “Whether it’s loading up at the hardware store, packing up for a family day trip to the trailhead or simply picking up the kids and their friends after practice, the all-new 2022 Pathfinder makes life less complicated and more adventurous,” added Haslam.
How Do You Start A Nissan With Alexa
Some Nissan owners can now start their vehicles using Alexa voice commands.
Nissan has announced that it has become the first automotive manufacturer to support “name-free invocation,” making it easier for vehicle owners to access car functionality via Alexa-enabled devices. Nissan customers can now ask Alexa to start, lock, and unlock the vehicles using simple requests like “Alexa, start my car.” Odds are many Nissan owners already have an Amazon Alexa device in their homes as it’s one of the most popular smart speakers out there.
Nissan brags that it is the first automaker to work with Amazon on new features to leverage the Alexa Connected Vehicle Skills API. Leveraging that API makes it easier for customers to control vehicle functions via Alexa. One of the best bits about the new Nissan announcement is that you don’t need a brand-new Nissan vehicle for the Alexa voice commands to work.
The Nissan Rogue continues to dominate the most popular segment in Canada with a notable accolade for its 2021 model. The Automobile Journalists Association of Canada awarded the well-equipped SUV with the title of “Best Mid-Size Utility Vehicle in Canada for 2021.”
Since 2012, the Rogue has been the go-to choice for drivers in Canada, establishing it as the brand’s best-selling vehicle. With the win of Best Mid-Size Utility Vehicle in Canada in 2021, the 2021 Nissan Rogue can now compete for the “2021 Canadian Utility Vehicle of the Year” award, which will be revealed next month.

How Much Does the Nissan Rogue Cost?

Nissan is in full swing with numerous new vehicles on their way, and we’ll get to see two new vehicles on Feb. 4. The 2022 Nissan Frontier and Pathfinder. Nissan launched on Tuesday a website dedicated to the two vehicles with a single teaser and a countdown to their upcoming reveal.
As for the 2022 Pathfinder, the SUV is far more of a mystery with Nissan keeping quiet about what to expect from the full-size vehicle. From the teaser, we can sort of see a similar LED signature on the headlights to the recently updated Nissan Armada. Details on the powertrain or any sort of electrification remain unclear, but we won’t have to wait much longer to learn all about it.
Trouble Financing A Car With Bad Credit?
If you have a less than ideal credit score, you might be concerned about finding a car loan with favorable terms. Getting a car loan with bad credit can be a frustrating endeavor. Some lenders may only consider you for subprime auto loans, which often come with less favorable terms and higher monthly payments.
Getting Ready to Trade Your Used Car for a New Car
Have you noticed your car not running like it used to? Are you ready to upgrade to a shiny new one? Trading in is a great way to save money on your new upgraded vehicle. Trading in a vehicle is a very easy and straightforward process and can be a lot simpler than selling privately. Trading in your old car is also a great way to lower the monthly payments on your new car.
- Clean the car, inside and out. Imagine what you would think if you went to purchase a car and it was covered in dirt and trash. What would you perceive as the value of that car? What would your idea of a fair price be for a car that was not clean? It’s not a bad idea to have your car detailed. Making a good impression gives the best chances at the best offer.
- Fix small issues yourself. This goes along with the thought process from above. You want to give a great first impression and to do so, be sure to check all of the car’s lights. This includes dome lights, and tail lights and replacing them if needed. It’s always a good idea to top off all fluid levels, such as coolant, washer fluid, and brake fluid. If your car needs more serious work, leave that for the dealer. Any major issues will lower the value of the trade-in, but the dealer can perform the repairs for less than it would cost you.
- Gather all important documents. Dealers can pull a vehicle’s history report but you will need to have a few other documents ready for the trade-in. This will include the title, registration and any service records you may have. A well-serviced vehicle will bring more value and having the documents to show that you have serviced the vehicle regularly will definitely help.
- Grab any extras. Do you have an extra set of keys? Does your navigation system have a DVD or SD card associated with it? Bring those along with you. In some cases, you can not get credit for accessories that are not complete.
- Conduct your own inspection. Are there any dents or scratches that can be worked out with a little elbow grease? Take a test drive, and pay close attention to anything that may be not right. Note them, whether electrical or even the need for new tires.
- Determine your car’s estimated value. Do this after you have inspected your vehicle. This will give you a good idea of what to expect realistically. You can use sites like Kelly Blue Book to determine this. This will give you a great starting point for negotiations.
Trading in your old car is a great way to boost your financing and put yourself on the fast track toward a new set of wheels. But it also involves more than just handing over the keys. Use the following tips for trading in your used car to get the most out of your deal.
Don’t give up hope. You are not alone and you do have healthy options. Even if your credit score needs improvement, you can still find a car loan that doesn’t break your monthly budget. And making consistent payments towards an auto loan is an excellent way to repair your credit.
Here at Greenville Nissan, our goal is to work with you if you have credit challenges. We take the pressure and hassle of getting financed out of the car shopping process.
Here are some tips you may consider when shopping for a car with bad credit:
Know your credit score. Taking action to repair your credit score before you begin shopping can help you find a more favorable position with some lenders.
Research. It is very important to prepare as much as possible so you’re not caught off guard when the time comes to negotiate.
Research should include key terms, like Annual Percentage Rate (APR), which refers to a loan’s yearly interest rate. If you’re buying used, it also helps to know the Kelley Blue Book value of your preferred car.
Pre-qualify with banks and lenders. Even if you don’t think you can get a loan, go to your bank, go to your credit union first. One of your most powerful negotiating tools could be pre-qualifying for a loan from a bank or a credit union.
Terms Final. Make sure the terms of your loan are final. If you finance through a dealer, always make sure the terms are final before you sign. If you don’t, you may face higher monthly payments or increased down payment in the future.
Stay clear of subprime lenders. Subprime car loans might come with higher interest rates and are not likely to help you improve your credit score. Many subprime loans also use your vehicle as collateral. So if you fail to make payments, you risk losing your car altogether.
Think loan terms NOT monthly payments. Look for the most favorable terms, usually the lowest APR over the shortest period of time. That way, you’ll have more manageable monthly payments with reasonable interest rates.
Lower monthly payments may seem good on paper and are used to bait in buyers. In reality, they can lead to you paying substantially more for your car over the term of the loan. Because car loans for bad credit can come with higher APRs (Annual Percentage Interest Rates), you may end up paying a lot more than the car’s full value in the end.
Ultimately, if you are working with bad credit, it can be tougher to find the right lender/loan. The good news is that research, preparation, and negotiation can help you get approved at a much lower interest rate than expected. Find the loan that’s right for your situation. Then pay it off to improve your credit score and potentially refinance if you find better terms.
